Glutathione

What is glutathione?

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect your body (at a cellular level) from disease, helps to slow cancer progression, and can also help to improve insulin sensitivity. This master molecule is comprised largely of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. Glutathione has been linked to help reduce inflammation, detoxify harmful substances, and provide anti-aging effects, by protecting cells from damage caused by oxidative stress.

Some other great benefits that this powerful molecule provides includes an increase in mobility for people with artery diseases, reduction in symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease, and most importantly, glutathione also helps to preserve the natural chemical balance of the cells to be able to fight off oxidative stress, cell damage by autoimmune diseases, and cancer.

Unfortunately, glutathione levels may be reduced by several factors, including poor nutrition, environmental toxins, stress, and also decline with age.

What are natural sources of glutathione?

Glutathione is naturally produced in the body, however, certain plants and food can raise the level of glutathione. Some foods that help to increase the level of glutathione in the body include: avocados, asparagus, broccoli, and almonds, among others.

How can we obtain extra glutathione?

The goal is to maximize the number of antioxidants in the body through diet supplements, which can be done through IV infusions and/or oral pills. As mentioned above, glutathione is deprived with aging, stress, and illness. By focusing on improving your diet, lifestyle, and overall wellness, this can help to maintain and boost your overall levels of this superpower antioxidant.
